In addition to the Chair, the Council’s Executive Committee consists of nine members representing the three categories that make up the Council. They are elected by the General Assembly from among its members for a term of two and a half years, renewable once. The Council’s rules of procedure set forth the procedures for these elections.
In addition, the chairs of the Council’s standing committees are members of the Council’s Executive Committee.
- The Council’s office assists the president in preparing and implementing the decisions made by the Council.
- The Council Bureau reviews requests for opinions submitted to the Council and forwards them, for study and review, to the relevant committees, special working groups, or the National Agency for the Evaluation of the Education, Training, and Scientific Research System, depending on their area of expertise.
- The Council’s Bureau reviews the findings of the committees, special working groups, and the national body responsible for evaluating the education, training, and scientific research system, and decides on the appropriate follow-up actions.
- The Office of the President assists in setting the agenda for General Assembly sessions.
- The Council Bureau approves the annual program of activities for the National Agency for the Evaluation of the Education, Training, and Scientific Research System.
- The Council’s Bureau reviews the evaluation reports prepared by that body and forwards them to the General Assembly in accordance with the procedures set forth in the Council’s rules of procedure.
The Council Bureau defines the responsibilities of temporary committees and special working groups, their operating procedures, and the duration of their mandate, and appoints their members from among the Council members.
