Missions and responsibilities<\/h1>\n

The Council has two main missions:<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

  • To give its opinion on all public policies and national choices relating to the education, training, and scientific research sectors, as well as on public interests related to these sectors;<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to the evaluation of public policies and programs in the fields of education, training, and scientific research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    To this end, the Council is committed to:<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

    [\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

      \n
    • To give its opinion on all matters relating to the national education, training, and scientific research system submitted to it by the King for that purpose;<\/li>\n
    • To give its opinion on matters submitted by the government concerning major national choices, general guidelines, programs, and projects of particular importance relating to the fields of education, training, and scientific research;<\/li>\n
    • To give its opinion to the government and Parliament on draft laws and proposals, organic laws, and regulations submitted to it for this purpose by the President of the Government, the President of the House of Representatives, or the President of the Council of Advisors, as applicable, including draft laws and proposals that establish the framework for the fundamental objectives of the State in the areas of education, training, and scientific research;<\/li>\n
    • Prepare, on its own initiative or at the request of the government, studies and research on any issue relating to education, training, and scientific research, or concerning the management of the public institutions for which it is responsible;<\/li>\n
    • Conduct comprehensive, sectoral, or thematic evaluations of public policies and programs in the fields of education, training, and scientific research, and disseminate their results;<\/li>\n
    • Submit to the government any proposal that may:\n
        \n
      1. Contribute to improving the quality of the national education and training system, ensure its reform, increase its cost-effectiveness, and develop its performance;<\/li>\n
      2. Encourage policies for the development of scientific research infrastructure, support them, and encourage researchers working in this field to demonstrate creativity and innovation.<\/li>\n
      3. Establish partnerships and cooperative relationships with national and international sectors, institutions, and organizations within its area of expertise.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The Council shall submit a report on the results and prospects of its work at least once a year. This report shall be submitted to the King, then forwarded to the head of government, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the President of the House of Councillors, and shall be debated in Parliament.<\/p>\n
